Tribal Trouble 2 Beta

Tribal Trouble 2 Beta Testing

Oddlabs has released a very early beta version of the sequel to Tribal Trouble. Initially, there are very few gameplay changes from the original, but this will change in the coming months. Please note that this is very much work in progress and that some features may be broken at times!

Initial features

The focus of this initial release of what will become Tribal Trouble 2 is the new web-based platform. Instead of downloading the game, Tribal Trouble 2 runs directly from the browser.

Other features include:

  • A mission (i.e., a single player game) or multiplayer game can be quit at any time and resumed later.
  • Custom created islands for completely fair multiplayer games.
  • 5 single player missions.
  • 4 multiplayer islands.

What's with the oddies and points?

Tribal Trouble 2 is free to play, but units, building and chieftain skills must be bought from the shop with oddies and points. Oddies are purchased for real money, while points are earned by completing single player missions or winning multiplayer games.

System requirements

  • Windows XP / Vista, Mac OS X 10.4+ (including all updates) or an up-to-date Linux distribution.
  • Firefox 2.x+. Support for Internet Explorer 6+ and Safari is planned, but may be somewhat flaky during the initial beta testing period.
  • Java 1.5+ is required (1.6 recommended). If you do not already have this plugin, you will be prompted to install it the first time you attempt to run the game.
  • A graphics card with OpenGL compatible drivers.
