About Oddlabs

Oddlabs is an independent game development studio situated in Odense, Denmark.

The company was founded in 2001 by four computer science students from University of Southern Denmark. The first couple of years were spent building the underlying technology: A game engine that allows for rapid development of 3D cross platform games that will run on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux without any platform specific modifications.

Based on this technology and the independent developer approach to the computer games market, Oddlabs won a third place in the 2004 round-up of Venture Cup, an annual business plan competition for promising high-tech startups.

In March 2005 Oddlabs released the realtime strategy game Tribal Trouble which made headlines when it made it to GameTunnel's 2005 Top 10 Game of The Year list and became a finalist in the Independent Game Festival 2006 competition. Since then, Oddlabs' main focus has been b2b projects, but as of 2008, we are back with a new purely web-launched and much enhanced version of Tribal Trouble, not surprisingly dubbed Tribal Trouble 2.
